For bonding and smoothing insulating panels for external thermal insulation systems
For bonding and coating polystyrene (EPS-F) insulating panels
For bonding insulating panels for dry plinths (EPS-P)
For bonding insulating panels for dry XPS plinths (without surface coating)
Preparing the mixture:
Mix one sack of RASICOL (25 kg) with 6 litres of clean water, using a suitable mixer, for as long as it takes to obtain a uniform mixture. If mixing by hand, mix for at least 2-3 minutes. Leave to work for 10 minutes, then mix again
Preparing the surface:
The underlying material must be dry, substantial and free of external materials (such as dust, soot, algae, salt formations, etc.). Remove any residues of releasing materials (release agent, etc.). Brittle surfaces, or surfaces that tend to chalk, must either be reinforced with a fixative or removed. Before applying Rasicol as a finishing product, install the insulation panels using cladding dowels (such as TFIX-8M, TFIX-8P, KI-10 or W-DHS for pin driver)
Bonding: Apply the adhesive using the perimeter curb and point method; a bead of adhesive must be made along the entire perimeter of the insulating panel and two or three bonding points must be made in the centre of the insulating panel. The adhesive must cover at least 40 % of the surface of the plate. Before applying the dowels, and until the bonding agent has completely set, the insulation panels must not be subject to heavy mechanical loads (such as sanding, cutting or exposure to strong winds). Finishing insulating panels: Apply the finishing product approximately 2-3 days after gluing, spreading it with the toothed part of the two-hand trowel. Immerse the Würth Retics 155 fibreglass reinforcement mesh into the finishing bed, with an overlap of at least 10 cm at the joints, and cover it completely using the smooth part of the trowel. If necessary, level out the surface using a straight edge. The final thickness of the mesh shave must be approximately 3 mm. When the finishing is completely dry (5-7 days, depending on weather conditions), a suitable wall covering must be applied
