- Watertight membrane that allows vapour to escape and protects the insulation against water and wind
- Three-layer construction: two outer layers made of polypropylene (PP), one inner functional film made of microporous polypropylene (PP)
- Also available in a 2SK version, with double-sided adhesive tape built into the overlap area to ensure a perfect seal
- We recommend carefully sealing all overlaps and joins of the breathable membrane to ensure a perfect seal over the entire surface
- The underlay cannot be used as a support for the direct installation of tiles or slates using polyurethane foam
- Cannot be used as a final roof covering
- ROOF TRASP SL-200 roof underlays can be laid directly on the thermal insulation or on the wooden decking of ventilated pitched roofs
- Laying method: Start laying from the bottom and work upwards while keeping the underlay slightly taut. Lay in parallel to the line of the eaves
- Initial attachment: On discontinuous supports, attach the underlay to the rafters by applying staples in the overlap area (marked with a line 5 cm from the edge). On continuous supports, attach directly to the decking in the same way
- The next sheet of underlay should be laid so that it overlaps the previous sheet by at least 10 cm (see marking on the edge), or at least 20 cm in the case of low-pitched roofs. Where there is no integrated adhesive tape, glue and seal the overlap with adhesive tape from the Eurasol® range: Eurasol® (art. 0992700050), Eurasol® Max (art. 0992710160), Euradop® (art. 0992700119) or with CONNECT ADHESIVE ALL-IN-ONE (art. 0893700111
- Fix the underlay in place with counter battens mounted parallel to the rafters (from the ridge to the eaves). Apply Eurasol® nail sealing tape (art. 0875851145/0875851160) under each counter batten to prevent water ingress. The staples are only a temporary securing solution: Counter battens must always be used for permanent fastening. Caution: Users who fit the underlay without counter battens do so at their own risk!
- Vertical overlaps must be positioned over a rafter or a solid surface and must be glued and sealed with tape from the Eurasol® range (see above) or with CONNECT ADHESIVE ALL-IN-ONE (art. 0893700111)
- Joins with roof features: Where chimneys, skylights or other openings are present, cut and position the underlay in such a way as to prevent water ingress. Wrap the underlay around the feature, tuck in the underlay at the sides, glue and seal with adhesive tape from the Eurasol® range (see above)
- Cuts or cracks must be repaired using pieces of the same underlay, glued and sealed with Eurasol® Max adhesive tape (art. 0992710160). For minor damage, adhesive tape alone is sufficient
- When laying the underlay, carefully check that it is in perfect condition and that there is no damage of any kind (cuts, abrasions etc.)
- The final roof covering (tiles) must be installed within a maximum of three months of the underlay being laid, to prevent damage from UV rays
- Ventilation: In ventilated roofs, always ensure that air flows correctly between the eaves and ridge
