While the technical advice given is based on our experience and should be followed, it is purely indicative and must be confirmed through extensive practical tests. This does not relieve the purchaser of their responsibility to personally test our products to see whether they are suitable for the intended use
Suitable for outdoor cladding insulation systems
Can be applied on base-coat plaster on internal facades and walls
Compatible with Würth RASIN Universal and Rasicol products
Coating of panels (plasterboard panels, fibre-cement panels, etc.)
Preparation of surfaces:
Highly absorbent walls must first be dampened with water or pre-treated with a suitable base primer (except gypsum-based plaster). Smooth concrete surfaces must be skimmed with an adhesive/smoothing compound. For plasterboard panels, a primer must be applied to act as a vapour barrier. Using COVER B15 coating indoors without a primer can result in the formation of irregular shiny patches
Preparation of the mixture:
Mix the wall coating with clean water in a suitable bucket using a mechanical mixer with sufficient power to obtain a uniform mixture. The temperature of the water in the mixture must not exceed +25°C. Leave to stand for 10 minutes, then mix again. Keep mixing the mixture during application to prevent granules from sedimenting at the bottom. Mix for a short time. Avoid mixing excessively
To obtain a "rustic coating", apply using a steel square trowel with a uniform thickness that corresponds with the particle size. To obtain a "finished" coating, spread with an INOX steel spatula in two layers on top of the previously prepared surface. Apply the first layer and let it harden slightly before applying the second layer. Finish the plaster with the desired pattern (circles, horizontal/vertical patterns) using a suitable (plastic) trowel. Ensure that surface finishing is completed promptly. It is very important that the tools used are cleaned. Any material that remains attached to the tool may alter the trowel's profile and result in an irregular surface. As a "spray coating", apply with a suitable machine. The fresh mortar is only workable within the first 2 hours. Any remaining material in open containers should not be reused or mixed with fresh material. To avoid colour irregularities due to the application process, atmospheric agents or the varying absorption levels of the surface, a final layer of silicate- or siloxane-based outdoor coating should be applied to the entire covering. The protective treatment can only be applied after the coating has completely dried and cured. This is approx. 7–10 days after application of the wall coating, or 2–3 weeks for thicker coatings (according to the environmental conditions)
Surface:
The surface must be dry, absorbent, flat, sufficiently rough and consistent, and free from dust, ice, salt formations and release agents such as oil or similar. Base-coat plasters containing
lime/cement-based binders for heat insulation systems must be applied in the thickness mandated by current directives and left to dry adequately (at least 5 days; times are increased for environments with low temperatures and high humidity). Base-coat plasters containing gypsum must be sufficiently firm, dry and cured. Lime/cement-based plasters can only be coated once hardened
