Condensing boilers are increasingly more common and being installed more frequently thanks to their optimal performance in terms of their energy efficiency and energy saving qualities. However, the acid condensates produced must be neutralised before they pass through the exhaust network, in order to avoid damage to the piping and the environment. The W-NCA neutralising filter, installed downstream of the boiler condensate pipe, completely eliminates this danger. The condensate is forced to pass through the neutralising charge contained inside the filter, thus raising its pH, which changes from acid to alkaline. This allows the condensate to be disposed of safely, avoiding damage to pipes, sinks or gutters and respecting the environment
Protects the pipe network from corrosion as a result of acid condensation
Extremely compact and can be easily positioned under the boiler, even in small spaces
Interchangeable hose barb connectors for easy adaptation to various different installations
Quick and easy maintenance
Equipped with an atmospheric vent on the upper cap, compliant with UNI 7129-5 standards
2 neutralising charges already included with the supply
Neutralising filter for acid condensate W-NCA, including:
- Pair of hose angled barb connectors, G3/4 in x DN20
- 2 neutralising charges
- Polymer collar for wall mounting (complete with screw and anchor)
CAUTION:
- The W-NCA filter must be installed vertically (air vent upwards) and below the boiler (condensate drainage downwards)
- Use only for original neutralising charges (Art. 0893505100)
- Do not exceed the maximum charge level (Fig. 2)
- For outdoor boiler installations, insulate the filter using the specific thermal insulation (Art. 0886900315)
- To ensure that the condensate discharge system is compliant with UNI 7129-5, also follow the boiler manufacturer's specifications
Installation:
- 1. Locate the boiler condensate pipe
- 2. Install the W-NCA filter to this drainage pipe using the hose barb connectors
- 3. Mount the filter to the wall using the appropriate collar
- 4. Remove the air vent from the filter and insert the neutralising charge (Fig. 1)
- 5. Refit the air vent
- 6. Check that the filter is correctly mounted and that the seals are in the correct position
Maintenance:
The running time of the neutralising charge varies according to acidity, the quantity of condensate being treated and the boiler's operating hours.
Periodically check the neutralising charge level (Fig. 2) and top up if necessary. It is nevertheless necessary to completely replace the neutralising charge at least once a year (e.g. during periodic maintenance of the boiler)
Annual maintenance instructions:
- 1. Switch off the boiler and wait 10 minutes for the condensate to drain
- 2. Disconnect the filter from the condensate pipe
- 3. Release the filter from the collar and remove any residual condensate in the filter
- 4. Open the lower cap, extract the stainless steel mesh and completely remove the neutralising charge; then clean the mesh and filter
- 5. Reinsert the stainless steel mesh and put the lower cap back on
- 6. Remove the air vent and insert the replacement neutralising charge (Fig. 1), then refit the air vent
- 7. Reattach the filter to the collar and reconnect it to the condensate pipe
