Based on solvent-based fluid epoxy resins with high dry residue content
The quantities of the two components (A and B) have been perfectly balanced in order to obtain a final product with the performance characteristics stated in the technical data. It is therefore recommended to mix the two packages completely (as supplied), taking care to fully use any residues remaining in the can of component B and to avoid any partial mixtures. The resulting mixture must be used within 2 hours (23°C)
Note: the technical data refers to correctly mixed product (comp. A + comp. B ∼ 10 kg)
While the technical advice given is based on our experience and should be followed, it is purely indicative and must be confirmed through extensive practical tests. This does not relieve the purchaser of their responsibility to personally test our products to see whether they are suitable for the intended use
- Preparation of cement-based media for the application of liquid waterproofing membranes (Impelast, Witanflex, Impefond etc.)
- Increased adhesion of liquid coatings on particularly smooth concrete surfaces (Predalles, prefabricated structures in general etc.)
- Dust-proof and consolidated treatment of absorbent, opulent, brittle, non-completely matured cement screeds
- Work on surfaces with above-average residual humidity, but free from negative pressure and capillary rising
- Preventive treatment of bituminous membranes for applying waterproofing products from the IMPELAST and WITANFLEX lines in order to limit any oil outcrops on the surface
Preparation of surfaces
Cement surfaces
Clean the surface thoroughly, removing dust, debris or loose parts, oils, greases and any other items that might affect adhesion. Check that there is no rising moisture or negative pressure that could build up vapour pressure between the cement board and the coating. Bituminous surfaces: firstly restore any bituminous surfaces that are damaged (cracks, holes, ridges etc.) or that are flaking off using the same type of material. Thoroughly clean and remove any loose or partially adhering protective paints. Check the functionality of the drains at rainwater runoff points and check all the other cover details

Application
Pour component B into component A and mix thoroughly until perfectly uniform. Recover component B completely using portions of mixed product (A+B). Apply the product by roller or brush, making sure to saturate the surface's pores. In case of immediate absorption, apply a second fresh coat on the first fresh coat, taking care to ensure that the product does not pool. If this occurs, it is recommended to absorb these pools by dusting with sand. Consumption can range from 150 to 300 g/m2, depending on the degree of absorption and the characteristics of the surface. Tools should be cleaned using fresh nitro solvent, only mechanically dried (difficult to remove). The hardening time, in order to carry out the subsequent work phases, is linked to the temperature and humidity of the environment and of the surface present during installation and in the hardening phase. See technical data. Subsequent products must be applied within 24 hours of applying PRIMER BK10. To obtain optimal adhesion, it is recommended to apply subsequent coatings when PRIMER BK10 can be walked on without being damaged, but is still slightly sticky. On wet surfaces and surfaces exposed to sunlight, lay PRIMER BK10 when the surface temperature is in the waning phase
