- Free from synthetic additives
- Excellent adhesion properties on highly absorbing and critical surfaces
- Improves the adhesion of the next treatment
- Creates the rough substrate necessary for plastering
- Offsets the absorbing power of the substrate
- Ideal in case of humidity by rising damp
- Resistant to sulphates
- Absorbs humidity from the masonry by facilitating its evaporation through the dehumidifying plaster
- Machinable
Ensure that the outside temperature and the temperature of the surface being treated do not fall below +5°C during application and drying. Rough coat and adhesion primer in case of highly absorbing and critical surfaces (such as mixed masonry, natural stone masonry, etc.)
For the preparation of substrates to humid walls and/or walls showing salt formations
Suitable for the treatment of external perimeter walls of buildings, but also for internal walls in cellars, basements, etc. that are exposed to rising damp
Preparation of surfaces:
Identify precisely which area of the masonry is affected by rising damp, salt formations and any mould. Remove all plaster layers up to 1 metre above the edge of the damaged masonry area. Scrape the joints to a depth of approximately 2 cm. Immediately dispose of the removed material: the salts that had saturated the old plaster might seep back into the soil in case of rain. Prepare the substrate so that it is solid, substantial, as dry as possible, free of dust and clean of any chemical material and compound (such as release agents)
Preparation of the mixture:
Mix one sackful of RINNOVA R ROUGH COAT (25 kg) with 4.5 litres of clean water, using a suitable mixer, for as long as it takes to obtain uniform mixture. Mix at low speed to avoid trapping air bubbles
Apply the rough coat in a "lattice" pattern, covering about 60% of the surface; approximately 40% of the substrate must remain visible. In any case, never cover the entire surface. The product can also be machine-applied. Fresh mortar is workable within 2 hours. The drying time is of at least 7 days (prevent the surface from drying too fast)
