Butylene-X is for sealing at points where the joint is not subject to mechanical load or does not require major joint movement. This product forms a paintable surface within 48 hours. It is not suitable for polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), PTFE or surfaces containing bitumen.
Should not be used on very porous and/or absorbent surfaces or for expansion joints.
The base must be clean and free of grease and dirt. Use turpentine to clean the tool. Use a backstop (PE backfill sealant) to achieve the correct joint depth and prevent three-point attachment. Smooth the joint with turpentine.
