Warning: Do not use the products in the following cases: At temperatures below +5°C, if rainfall is likely, on wet surfaces or in the presence of damp. Avoid exposing packaging to or using IMPEFOND at the hottest time of the day in summer or in direct sunlight. Protect the seal from rain, dew and fog until it is completely dry. Be careful when filling: Excessively blunt materials may damage the sealing layer. Not suitable as root protection, for horizontal surfaces, for areas with pedestrian or vehicle traffic.
Sealing of foundation walls and walls in contact with the earth.
Preparation of cement-containing substrates: Wait until new cement-containing surfaces are fully cured. Clean the substrate thoroughly and remove oils, fats, release agents (for cleaning with water, wait until the surface is completely dry), dust, loose parts and crumbling parts. Seal the through holes in the spacers with suitable stoppers and construction adhesive PU 40+ art. 0892212, restore flatness in these locations with fibre-reinforced mortar (e.g. Speedcem art. 0890353). Create a connecting bowl between the plate and vertical masonry using the same mortar. Irregularities in the substrate, excessively rough rendering and secondary casting, holes, honeycombing, cracking etc. must be repaired and/or smoothed over with suitable mortar. Technical joints must be pretreated with suitable products to ensure their airtightness.
Substrates that are highly absorbent or difficult to bond to must be pretreated with Primer B4 art. 0893220018 (usage approx. 150 g/m²) or for particularly problematic substrates Primer BK10 art. 0893220018 + 0890350017 (usage approx. 150 g/m²).
Application: After proper and careful preparation of the substrate, IMPEFOND is applied to the surface with a smoothing trowel or spatula in a single layer in a minimum quantity of 2.5 kg/m2. Filling must be done once the product is completely dry, but in all cases no earlier than 72–96 hours after finishing applying IMPEFOND; Note: High humidity and low temperatures noticeably prolong drying times.
