TRA-WIK®-PU support brackets are made of a mass-dyed black, CFC-free, rot-proof rigid polyurethane foam with three foam washers at the three fixing points
TRA-WIK®-PU are easy to saw and adapt to the required thickness, making them suitable for a range of construction site applications. The reference lines every 20 mm on both sides provide a valuable aid for a precise cut
TRA-WIK®-PU brackets offer numerous advantages:
- No thermal bridges created
- No ingress of water
- No damage
- Solid anchoring for heavy loads
- Proven system
TRA-WIK®-PU support brackets have limited UV resistance. During the construction phase, they do not need a protective cover. However, it is essential to protect them against weather and UV rays once installed
Dense PU foam ensures stability. The bracket does not contain metal reinforcements
TRA-WIK®-PU support brackets are designed for external mounting without thermal bridges of components on: thermal insulation systems, ventilated walls, internal insulation systems and more.
Typical applications:
- Hinges
- Rails for sliding shutters
- Shutter frames
- Safety window bars
- Intrados railings for French doors
Mechanical fastening requirements:
- You must choose the appropriate fastening material for the underlying surface, as well as for the area of application. If the underlying surface is unknown, you must perform pull-out tests on the means of attachment prior to starting mounting
- In the case of load-bearing components, the insertion of fastening anchors into the masonry is not recommended. Components must be secured with threaded rods and chemical anchors
Requirements for the underlying surface:
The entire surface of the TRA-WIK®-PU panel support brackets must fit flush against the underlying surface. If this is not possible, their entire surface must be bonded to the underlying surface using glue for insulation panels
Mounting:
- Before mounting, ensure that the TRA-WIK®-PU support brackets do not show any signs of damage that may impair the static load capacity and that they have not been exposed to the elements for an extended period of time. Any modification of the TRA-WIK®-PU support brackets may impact the load-bearing capacity and should therefore be avoided, the only exception being the reduction of the thickness
- TRA-WIK®-PU panel support brackets can be coated with existing commercially available materials for external thermal insulation systems, without primer
- Components can be fixed to the plaster coating. In this case the coating must be able to withstand the compressive forces generated by screwing in the component
Threaded inserts or wood screws can be used to secure the TRA-WIK®-PU support brackets. Screw attachment must only be carried out on the intended working surface
