- Contains air hardening lime and white cement
- Reinforced with fibres
- Also suitable for the restoration of historic buildings
- Good adhesion
- Excellent workability
- Controlled shrinkage and curing with reduced stress
- Applicable in a single coat 3 to 30 mm thick
- Can also be used as a levelling plaster on normal load-bearing surfaces
Not suitable for gluing insulation panels. Not suitable for fixing large ceramic tiles or heavy natural stone tiles on walls. Small tiles can be glued to it in areas with reasonably low humidity, such as domestic kitchens or bathrooms, provided that the plaster has been allowed to cure for a sufficient length of time (at least 4 weeks). Lime-based plasters are not recommended for very damp areas (e.g. subject to water splashes). To reduce the risk of cracks forming in plaster on wall-mounted heating systems, the use of reinforcement mesh is recommended. To ensure good internal climate regulation, paints permeable to steam and carbon dioxide are recommended. Ensure that the room temperature and that of the surface being treated do not fall below +5°C during application and drying. Protect from frost for at least seven days to make sure that it dries properly. The product can be stored in a dry place for up to 12 months. Packaging date on the product packaging. Any material that is left over cannot be reused and should not be mixed with fresh material
While the technical advice given is based on our experience and should be followed, it is purely indicative and must be confirmed through extensive practical tests. This does not relieve the purchaser of their responsibility to personally test our products to see whether they are suitable for the intended use
Minimum order quantity: 18 pieces (possibility of having a mixed pallet containing other products from the mortars range that feature the same wording)
Perfect as plaster and finishing skim to restore flaking walls and damaged coatings
Particularly suitable for repairing surfaces that are uneven or not uniformly absorbent, for application at varying thicknesses
Ideal for plastering over heating or hot water pipes in walls
Excellent compatibility with paints containing silicates or lime
Preparation of surfaces:
Before working on old plaster, check that it is solid by means of a tear test. The test must be carried out on at least two characteristic points of a 1-m² test surface: apply the mix and embed the Würth RETICS reinforcement mesh, item no. 0519 510 404, in it. Perform the tear test and evaluation once it is dry (after at least 7 days). Plasters and paints unable to withstand loads must be removed. On concrete surfaces that are properly clean and dry, it is not necessary to apply a bonding agent. Organic surfaces should be cleaned with a low-pressure jet of water; do not use a high-pressure washer. After cleaning with water, the surface should be left to dry properly (for around 10 days in good weather). If you have to clean the surface with a high-pressure washer, increase the drying time proportionally
Preparing the mix:
Mix one sackful of RASIN UNIVERSALE (25 kg) with approximately 7.5 litres of clean water, using a suitable mixer, for as long as it takes to obtain a uniform mixture. Leave to stand for 10 minutes, then briefly mix again. Once the material has set, it must not be mixed again
Surface:
The surface must be clean, solid, and free from persistent damp and dust, substantial, and free from salt formations, release agents and dirt of any kind. The surface must be checked thoroughly. Damaged areas of plaster must be removed. With historic buildings, consult the relevant authorities before removing cavities or unstable elements. If these elements have to be preserved, they must be consolidated in accordance with best practice
When working manually, apply the material with a spatula or trowel. If using as a finishing skim, apply a coat around 3 mm thick and embed Würth RETICS reinforcement mesh, item no. 0519 510 404, in it. The sheets of reinforcement mesh should overlap by 10 cm at the joins. When applying by machine, spray with a standard plastering machine. After application, level the surface using a straight edge. The last coat of plaster can also be felted, working directly with a felting float. RASIN UNIVERSALE can be directly floated. The product must be worked within two hours. While it sets, especially if using heaters, it is necessary to provide the correct conditions for drying and curing, e.g. by creating air currents, because direct heat on the plaster may cause problems
