- Bitumen sheeting, consisting of high-weight non-woven polyester waterproofed with polymer-modified bitumen. Has a high resistance to water, UV rays and footfall during installation. Due to its robust construction, it can also be used as a vapour barrier under the thermal insulation layer
Keep the rolls in a storage room, away from direct sunlight and at a temperature of no less than +5 °C
Keep the rolls upright throughout the storage period.
Never stack the rolls or pallets on top of each other, neither during storage nor during transport
Laying on the cold side of a roof: tile underlay to ensure watertightness in the event that the roof covering elements break. Laying on the warm side of a roof: used as a vapour barrier before the thermal insulation is laid.
BITUMIN 1100 can also be used as bitumen sheeting roofing underlay in combination with bitumen roof tiles. In this case, the roof covering must have a minimum slope of 20° and the tiles must be secured using bolts
The BITUMIN 1100 sheeting can be placed between the rafters or on the decking:
- Start laying from the bottom and work upwards, following the slope of the roof. Each upper sheet must overlap the sheet underneath to ensure proper drainage of water
- Attach the sheets by applying staples or washer-head nails to the overlap area, overlapping the sheets by at least 10 cm and sealing the overlaps with adhesive tape from the Eurasol® range: Eurasol® art.0992700050, Eurasol® Max art.0992710160
- In the eaves area, create a flap of at least 10 cm inside the gutter to prevent water ingress
- Pay particular attention to ventilation grilles, aerators, chimneys and skylights. Do not obstruct ventilation openings in any way. Where roof penetrations are present, cut the sheeting to fit precisely around them and seal with tape or bituminous mastic
- When laying the sheeting, carefully check that it is in perfect condition and that there is no damage of any kind (cuts, abrasions etc.)
- The roof covering must be installed within a maximum of 3 months of the sheeting being laid
