Vapour retarder screen, three-layer, tough, non-slip and tear resistant, regulates the passage of water vapour through the insulation package and prevents the formation of harmful condensation inside
Composition
Three-layer heat-sealed screen: two protective outer layers, an inner microporous film
- 1) Upper outer layer: Non-woven fabric made of water repellent, UV-stabilized, non-slip and tread-resistant polypropylene (PP)
- 2) Inner layer: functional film, low transpiration
- 3) Lower outer layer: Non-woven fabric made of absorbent polypropylene (PP)
Airtight**
- crates a hermetically-sealed covering which prevents air leaks and heat loss and improves energy savings
- improves living comfort
Correct breathability
- optimally regulates the diffusion of water vapour to the outside
- prevents the formation of condensation within the insulation package, keeping it dry and efficient when used in combination with breathable membranes (Wütop® 150, Wütop® 170 etc.) laid on the cold side
** For complete air tightness, the installation must be carried out to a professional standard, carefully sealing all the overlaps and the vapour retarder screen joins with the special adhesive tapes from the EURASOL® range and accessory products, which are essential for this purpose
EN 13984
Classification according to UNI 11470-2015: class A
The high surface mass density of 220 g/m² and the Class A classification under UNI 11470-2013 make the product suitable for any type of roof: direct laying on wooden planks or hollow-core concrete slabs, with a slope of more or less than 30%
To be applied on the warm side of the roof under the thermal insulation covering. Carefully follow the installation instructions provided with the product
Installation instructions:
- The Wütop® DB 4-220 / DB 4-220 2SK vapour retarder sheeting must be laid under the thermal insulation covering on the warm side (inside) of the roof, and must lie across or parallel to the beams. When laying in parallel, the joins between the sheets must always correspond with a joist or a solid support
- Fix the sheets in place with staples or nails, overlapping them by at least 10 cm and sealing the overlaps with Eurasol® adhesive tapes: Eurasol® A, Eurasol® P etc.
- Where the vapour retarder meets the masonry, leave a strip of 20 cm and glue, using Wütop® WRD® adhesive
- Where there are openings or gaps in the roof (chimneys, skylights etc.), cut the sheet and position it in such a way as to prevent air from escaping. Surround the element with the sheet and raise it at the sides. Then glue and seal the fittings
- Use Eurasol® adhesive tapes (see above) to restore proper air tightness
- When laying, make sure that the sheet is in perfect condition and that there is no damage of any kind (cuts, abrasions etc.)
- Insulation must be installed within a maximum of 3 months
