1. Preparation of underlying surfaces:
Before applying Rain Stop Plus, you must remove any dirt, dust, grease, oils, paints, salt, moss and weeds from the surface to be covered as these may prevent deep penetration of Rain Stop Plus. The choice of cleaning method, in the case of old surfaces, depends on the type of dirt. In general, washing with cold water may be sufficient. Cleaning with hot water or steam is particularly beneficial if there are oils or grease on the surface. In the absence of dirt, simply brush thoroughly using a stiff brush and remove any dust with compressed air. Only apply the product to visibly dry surfaces
2. Preparation of the product:
Rain Stop Plus is ready to use and should not be diluted with solvents or water
3. Application:
The effectiveness and the duration of the repellent effect depend on the depth of penetration. Naturally, this parameter is based on the absorption capacity of the material to be treated and the quantity of product applied. For an even distribution of Rain Stop Plus, it is advisable to use a manual backpack sprayer for large surfaces or a roller or brush for smaller surfaces or in the case of multiple windows. Apply until completely saturated. In general, for full impregnation, 2–3 coats are sufficient, applied approximately 2 hours apart. After applying Rain Stop Plus, painting is no longer possible. Therefore, painting should be done beforehand using inorganic paints in aqueous dispersion (e.g. silicate paints, quartz paints etc.). The treatment cannot be applied to solvent-based painting. Carry out tests to check the structure for any changes in colour or alterations. It is possible to apply a second coat, wet on wet. Clean the equipment used with solvents (petrol, mineral spirits etc.)
Application data:
Standing time between one coat and another: about 2 hours
