Membrane that acts as a vapour retarder, regulating the passage of water vapour from the inside of a building to the outside and preventing harmful condensation from forming in the thermal insulation.
Design
- Top layer: water-repellent, non-slip and UV-stabilised propylene protective coating (PP)
- Middle layer: vapour retarder membrane
- Bottom layer: absorbent propylene protective coating (PP)
Airtightness
- Stops ventilation from the inside
- Prevents heat loss and helps to save energy
Appropriate breathability
- Excellent heat insulation
- Improves comfort
- Helps to stop condensation from forming in the heat insulation in combination with water-vapour-permeable roof seals (Wütop® Trio, Wütop® 170, Wütop® ND, applied to the cold side (outside))
2SK version
- Double-sided adhesive tape in the overlap area for outstanding hermetic sealing
- No need for additional adhesive tapes for sealing the joints
Follow the installation instructions carefully
The installation must be professionally finished using sealing joints and connections with adhesive tape from the Eurasol® and Eurasol® plus assortment
For laying directly on the covered roof under the heat insulation
Regulates the diffusion of water vapour
For environments with normal inside temperature and relative humidity
Apply on the warm side (inside) of the roof or the wall
Installation instructions:
- The Wütop® DB 5-150/DB 5-150 2SK vapour retarder membrane must be laid under the heat insulation, always on the warm side (inside) of the roof and must be above or parallel to the struts. If you are laying in parallel, the connections between the membranes must always be laid above a joist bracket or a solid support
- Affix the properly placed membrane using staples or nails. Each membrane should overlap by at least 10 cm and the overlaps sealed with adhesive tape from the Eurasol® and Eurasol® P assortment
- Use a 20 cm strip where the vapour retarder meets the masonry and apply Wütop® adhesive tape for membranes
- On openings or interruptions in the roof (chimneys, skylights etc.), the membrane should be cut and positioned so that air is prevented from escaping. Surround the element with the membrane and pull it up on the sides. Bond and seal the connections with adhesive tape from the Eurasol® assortment (see above) to restore the hermetic seal
- When laying the membrane, check carefully whether it is in perfect condition and whether there is any visible damage (cuts, wear etc.)
- The insulation must be fitted within a maximum of three months of the membrane being laid
