- It should be painted over within the first three days after sufficient skin formation. Subsequent application of paint may cause adhesion problems.
- Sufficient ventilation should be ensured during the curing phase.
- A higher coating thickness extends the curing time.
- Due to the large number of paint and glazing formulations, preliminary testing is required in order to rule out any interactions.
- Powdered surfaces can contain residues that have a negative effect on the curing of the sealing material. Clean these surfaces thoroughly before application, e.g. with Würth activating cleaner.
- Take care with sealant joints that have been fully painted over. These tend to develop cracks when movement occurs in the joint, as the applied paint is generally less elastic than the sealant and then causes cracks to form in the paint.
- Alkyd resin paints can cause drying problems.
- Risk of yellowing and structural changes cannot be ruled out when in contact with white alkyd resin paints and substances containing plasticiser, such as butyl, bitumen and VKP tapes.
- As a general rule, in line with DIN 52452 Part 4, sealants should not be painted over.
- In the case of particularly sensitive natural stone, such as Jura and Carrara marble, preliminary testing is required.
- Remove excess smoothing agent from surfaces.
- Not suitable for use in floor joints for traffic routes.
